I... don't work with dead things directly, the way that you do. There have been, may have been, overtures, or something like them. I haven't answered, because I have other work to do firstly, and because I doubt the fineness of my perceptions, my ability to discern consent, dissent, contempt. Your writing inspires me... to keep my distance from this part of dead work. I am not ready, not careful enough. I don't have that exacting strength, and that is a relief. It's not what I am for.
